Placement Tests
Placement might be dependant on senior high school transcripts and GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores, and GED scores; all of which are valid for 5 years. Additionally, students who are enrolled at another advanced schooling institution or four-year college may submit their college transcripts for placement determination. Students that do not fulfill the placement requirements in relation to these multiple measures must take the Virginia Placement Test (VPT).
Students must submit their applications for admission to New River prior to taking the placement tests. Placement testing must certanly be completed just before ending up in an academic adviser to establish a training course schedule.
Students can retake the placement test one time within 12 months for the initial attempt regarding the VPT. Placement test scores are valid for five years.
Exemptions for Placement Testing
New students are exempt from taking the placement tests if they have received appropriate scores in the past five years on a single or a combination of the assessments that are following. (The scores shown would be the minimum required for exemption.)
